Government approves €3.5 million for damage in riverside areas
The Government allocates additional funds and expands support to municipalities affected by the storms in January and February.

The Government of Portugal has approved the allocation of €3.5 million to support the damages caused in riverside and coastal areas. This measure follows the "train of storms" that hit the country during the months of January and February.
In addition to the funding, the Government has expanded the number of municipalities that will be eligible for assistance, aiming to mitigate the effects of the severe weather that resulted in significant devastation.

According to official data, the storms caused at least 19 deaths, in addition to hundreds of injuries and displacements, impacting various communities along the coast and in riverside areas.
This measure is part of a wider set of actions by the Government to respond to emergency situations, seeking to rehabilitate affected infrastructure and provide support to impacted populations.
