Government confirms lack of funds for destruction of seized chemicals
The Government indicated that the destruction of chemicals would cost €144,000 and that the Judiciary Police had no budget for this.

The Government clarified, in response to questions from the Chega party, that the cost of destroying the seized chemicals from 'Operation Pacoba' was approximately €144,000. This information was confirmed by the Ministry of Justice (MJ).
In addition, the MJ confirmed that the Judiciary Police (PJ) did not have funds available to carry out the destruction order for the chemicals.

The Government added that there are two other seizure processes involving similar products that are also awaiting destruction. However, no further details were provided regarding these cases.
The issue was debated in Parliament, where the Chega parliamentary group presented their questions to the Government, leading to these clarifications regarding the management of financial resources for the destruction of chemicals.
