Government declares national security interest in Ceuta
The Executive appoints a single commander 26 days after the influx of migrants in the autonomous city.

The Government of Spain has decided to declare Ceuta as being in a 'national security interest' situation in response to the migratory crisis that occurred at the end of July, when there was a massive influx of irregular individuals. This declaration comes almost a month after the events, specifically 26 days later, and aims to improve coordination and management of the situation in the autonomous city.
The Minister for Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Ángel Víctor Torres, will assume the role of the highest authority responsible for the situation. According to the Government, this decision is justified by the increasing importance of coordinated crisis management affecting national security.
In addition to appointing the minister as the single commander, this measure responds to weeks of chaos and political confrontation regarding the Government's response to the crisis. This action aims to take control and adequately address the situation in Ceuta.

The Government meeting to formalize this decision is scheduled for this Tuesday, when more details about the actions to be implemented and the crisis management plan are expected to be announced.
The issue of the crisis in Ceuta has been a topic of debate and concern, highlighting the need for an effective response to the complexities of irregular migration flows and the overall situation of the autonomous city.
