Livre requests urgent debate on housing in the Assembly of the Republic
The Livre parliamentary group has requested an urgent debate in the AR about the housing crisis, scheduled for Wednesday, amid protests in several cities.

The Livre parliamentary group submitted a request today for an urgent debate in the Assembly of the Republic (AR) on the current housing crisis. The debate is scheduled for this Wednesday, October 21.
According to various reports, this initiative comes in the context of protests in Lisbon and Porto, highlighting the growing concern among the population regarding the housing situation in the country.
In the request sent to the President of Parliament, José Pedro Aguiar-Branco, Livre emphasizes the need to urgently discuss policies and solutions for housing, which has been criticized by civil society and various organizations.

Additionally, the party announced intentions to propose the creation of a "National Housing Service" and the implementation of a public fund dedicated to this area. These proposals aim to address the challenges faced by citizens in accessing housing.
Livre also intends to discuss the expansion of the Porta 65 program, which supports young tenants, and the revision of the Extraordinary Rent Support, measures that have been subjects of debate in society and among politicians.
The holding of this urgent debate reflects the pressing need to find viable solutions to the housing crisis affecting many families in Portugal.
