Luís Neves dismisses Ricardo Carrilho from the General Secretariat of the MAI
The Minister of Internal Administration, Luís Neves, announced the dismissal of Secretary-General Ricardo Carrilho, citing an internal reorganization.

Luís Neves, the Minister of Internal Administration, has dismissed Ricardo Carrilho from his position as Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI). The decision was officially communicated this Monday and is associated with a reorganization of the secretariat.
According to reports, Ricardo Carrilho refused to authorize the transfer of 26 million euros to SIRESP due to an expired contract and requested a written order from Luís Neves. This incident was cited as one of the factors leading to the dismissal.
A statement from the Ministry of Internal Administration emphasizes that the dismissal process aims to adapt the functioning of the secretariat to public administration reforms and ensure the continuity of its responsibilities with other public entities.

In addition to the dismissal of Carrilho, Luís Neves appointed a new Secretary-General, indicating a significant restructuring within the ministry.
The dismissal of Carrilho and the subsequent reorganization were reported by several sources, including Observador and RTP, which highlighted the search for improvements in internal management. Other publications also referred to the reason related to financial transfers.
The event prompted reactions, including criticism from Ventura, who opposed Luís Neves' decision, although no further statements regarding this opposition have been released.
