Nine districts on orange alert until Tuesday
IPMA has issued extreme heat warnings for nine districts and high heat warnings for several others until Tuesday.
The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) has placed nine districts on the mainland under an orange alert due to the forecast of high temperatures. This alert will remain in effect until 6:00 PM on Tuesday, October 10.
In addition to the orange alert, the IPMA also announced yellow warnings for several other districts, which will be in place until the same time. The forecast indicates continued warm weather with partly cloudy skies.
The districts affected by the orange alert include areas prone to intense heat, which may pose health risks, particularly for vulnerable populations. Citizens are advised to take appropriate precautions during this period.
