An orange alert has been issued in Miliano due to strong thunderstorms expected from late afternoon. Hail and wind gusts of up to 110 kilometers per hour are anticipated, leading to the closure of parks and swimming pools in the city. Traffic issues have been reported in Valcamonica due to the bad weather.

In Liguria, the weather alert has been raised to orange, the highest level, for thunderstorms. Arpal, the regional hydro-meteorological center, has updated forecasts, predicting severe weather scenarios in the coming hours. Particular attention is focused on the Tigullio area, where significant rainfall accumulations have been recorded.

In Chiavari, a violent storm resulted in 103 millimeters of rain falling within an hour, bringing the Rupinaro creek close to flood levels. Authorities have taken preventive measures in response to the critical situation that has arisen.

In the central-eastern part of Liguria, the alert will remain orange from 3 AM to 3 PM on Friday, August 21, before reverting to yellow until 5 PM. In the western area, however, the yellow code remains in place, awaiting further weather updates.

In other parts of Italy, bad weather continues to affect the central-southern regions, while a lightning strike has caused issues at the Ventimiglia station. The effects of the heatwave persist, with an increase in mortality cases among those over 85.
