The Portuguese government has expressed its intention to enhance air connections with Venezuela, as reported by several sources. This initiative was highlighted by the Minister of Economy, who emphasized the significance of Lufthansa's acquisition of TAP as a factor that could facilitate the creation of new routes between the two countries.

During his three-day visit to Venezuela, Minister Castro Almeida reiterated the desire to expand air and tourism routes. According to the minister, achieving this goal could boost tourism and investment between Portugal and Venezuela.

In addition to strengthening air links, the Portuguese government announced the creation of a new financial and institutional support framework aimed at fostering the internationalization of Portuguese companies in the Venezuelan market. This measure aims to facilitate access and competitiveness of companies in Venezuelan territory.

The priority given to strengthening air and commercial relations with Venezuela reflects a desire to reactivate and diversify business opportunities. The financial and institutional support will allow companies to develop projects in the South American country, considering the potential advantages that this market may offer.

Moreover, the historical and cultural relationship between Portugal and Venezuela is cited as a reason to strengthen ties, which also involves promoting tourism and commercial exchanges. Portuguese authorities hope that a new agreement can be established to facilitate this interaction.

Castro Almeida's visit to Venezuela represents a significant step in the negotiations, with hopes that these initiatives will not only improve air connections but also promote an increase in investment and Portuguese presence in the Venezuelan market.
