Prison service technicians are on strike, called by the Union of Technicians of the General Directorate for Reintegration and Prison Services (SinDGRSP). This protest action is in response to the union's disagreement regarding the amount of the risk supplement, which they consider insufficient given their responsibilities and job demands.

The strike includes a demonstration scheduled near the prison in Porto. The professionals in the field have key responsibilities in the rehabilitation, re-education, and social reintegration of inmates.

SinDGRSP argues that working conditions and the recognition of professionals are not adequately reflected in their salaries, particularly concerning the risk supplement, which is a central point of their claim.

The technicians express concerns related to the inherent risks of their duties and the increasing demands they face on a daily basis.

The strike and demonstration are part of the union's strategy to raise awareness about the situation of the profession and the working conditions, which they consider critical.

This day of strike represents a call for better conditions and a fairer recognition of the work they perform, which is fundamental for the prison system and society in general.
