Shipwreck in the Mediterranean: 7 Dead and 50 Migrants Rescued Off the Coast of Libya
An overloaded wooden boat capsized. The NGO Emergency rescued the survivors, many of whom were minors.

On Monday morning, an overloaded wooden boat capsized off the Libyan coast. According to the Italian NGO Emergency, seven people died in the incident.
The NGO's rescue vessel intervened and successfully saved 50 migrants, including 45 men and 5 women. Among the survivors are twenty-nine unaccompanied minors. These migrants reportedly stated they were from Egypt and Somalia.
Two of the survivors are said to be in critical condition, victims of asphyxiation, as reported by Emergency. The rescue operations were carried out under the supervision of a Libyan patrol boat.
